As a flamingo, I have an eye for style. An elegant pose, a striking appearance end, of course, a drink with character. On 19 October, we celebrate International Gin & Tonic Day: the perfect occasion to shine a spotlight on a classic that has been loved by cocktail enthusiasts around the world for generations.

What makes the Gin & Tonic so special? Its simplicity is precisely its strength. Gin, Tonic, ice and garnish to bring it all togheter. No complicated list of ingredients required, just the right balance and attention to detail. And let's be honest, some classics only get better when you add your own twist.

A classic with an unusual character

At Sir Edmond Gin, we love the classics, but we like to give them our own twist. Since our beginning in Amsterdam in 2016, we have done just that with the world's first Bourbo vanilla-infused gin. An unusual ingredient that you might associate with desserts, but one that brings a distinctive character to gin.

Bourbon vanilla lies at the heart of Sir Edmond Gin, complemented by botanicals such as juniper, cardamom, ginger, cinnamon and angelica root. together, they create a distinctive flavor profile in which warm, aromatic notes meet the familiar character of gin.

And that is exactly why Sir Edmond Gin works so well in Gin & Tonic. The vanilla gives the combination its own signature, while the botanicals add depth. The result is a familiar classic with an unexpected character. Because why be ordinary when you can be unusual?
