e had the privilege of hosting our Sir Edmond Gin & Sound Pairing Competition on the 16th of October. The event was held at LuminAir Amsterdam and set the tone for Amsterdam Dance Event. Ten bartenders competed against one another to win a €1,000 prize, showcasing their skills, creativity, and passion for crafting unique cocktails.
After an exciting day of witnessing delicious drinks, some good old shaking, and musical journeys, we are proud to announce Andre Montijn from The Peacock Bar was declared the winner of the Sir Edmond Gin & Sound Pairing Competition 2023. He dazzled the judges with his unique cocktail creation, which he named ‘Lady Blue Berry’.
The second and third runners-up, with inspired creations, are Maicol Vargas from bar Sonora with his typical Dominican dance and his cocktail named after this dance: ‘Bachata’ and Alina Lucia from bar Flying Dutchmen Cocktails with her performance and music she hyped up the crowd, making everyone standing up from their seats with her cocktail ‘The Affair’ respectively.

Lady Blue Berry: the winning recipe
The winning recipe by Andre Montijn was named ‘Lady Blue Berry’. The prize cocktail was a perfect blend of Brown Butter fatwashed Sir Edmond Gin, Homemade Blue Berry/Lavender Cordial, Clarified Orange Juice, Strega liquore, Lillet Blanc and Toasted Almond bitters that impressed the judges with its taste, presentation, and overall experience.
