Sir Edmond Gin is awarded with a gold medal at The Global Spirits Business Masters, the prestigious blind tasting competition in London. A panel of spirits experts found the Dutch brand to be one of the best in the Super Premium category, calling the gin “perfectly balanced.”
It isn’t the first time that The Spirits Business, the authoritative British magazine and website, awards the vanilla infused gin from the Netherlands with a medal. At The Gin Masters in 2017, Sir Edmond Gin won a Master medal, the highest possible award in the Super Premium category.
Since the first edition in 2008, The Global Spirits Business Masters has become the most prestigious blind tasting competition in the world. This year, a record amount of more than 300 leading international brands competed in various categories. The Super Premium judges, chaired by The Spirits Business deputy editor Melita Kiely, praised Sir Edmond Gin as being “very pleasant, with delicious notes of vanilla and a juniper berry bite, all perfectly balanced.”
“It is a huge honour to win a medal once again,” says Co-Owner Dominique Makatita. “Sir Edmond Gin is an unusual spirit with a distinctive palette. That the experts from the industry awarded our versatile gin means they value our rebellious character.”
The gold medal confirms that the world’s first vanilla infused gin is admired far beyond the Dutch borders. All the more reason to start scaling up the international expansion – Sir Edmond Gin is already available in the Netherlands, the UK, Denmark and Sweden. Makatita: “This gold medal motivates us to increase our efforts to put Sir Edmond Gin on the map internationally.”
