re you up for a transatlantic adventure?” When this question arrived at the Sir Edmond headquarters, we immediately said yes. The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) has selected our gin to be part of their assortment. Canada, here we come!
2022 got off to a great start with the announcement of our new distribution partners for Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Greece, Hungary and Slovakia. For the next stop on our never-ending gin journey, we spread our wings and headed west, crossing the Atlantic Ocean, flying over Newfoundland and Quebec to arrive in the Canadian province of Ontario.
It was quite a trip that started over a year ago with a call for tender that resulted in Sir Edmond being listed at the LCBO, with over 650 retail stores in the province of Ontario. We are more than proud to be listed alongside the other standout products from around the world that meet the LCBO’s strict selection criteria regarding quality, price, value, packaging and marketing plans.
Brand representation company GinBuilders and Canadian full service beverage alcohol agency Evolution Beverages played a crucial role in achieving this milestone. “We are excited to launch Sir Edmond in Ontario” says Geoff Kosar of Evolution Beverages. “Sir Edmond is such a unique product that sets itself apart from the other gin brands currently in market. Sir Edmond’s brand story, quality and distinctive packaging will appeal to Canadian consumers.”
Dominique Makatita, co-founder of Sir Edmond Gin, is over the moon with the transatlantic adventure. “We did it, a huge success! With special thanks to our partners Evolution Beverages and GinBuilders for making this happen. Being part of the LCBO assortment is a real challenge, as they hold really high standards on quality and taste. They have the opportunity to choose a wide variety of products which are all best in class. Being listed on their shelves is a reflection of the team and our partners delivering true excellence. Availability in Ontario is now set and we are ready to expand across Canada! Our mission remains the same: to offer one of the most unique gins in the world, with endless drink making possibilities.”
“The performance of our acceleration strategy is delivering excellence in the first half of 2022, with more and more countries embracing our unique Bourbon Vanilla infused gin”, says Sir Edmond co-owner T-J van der Drift. He adds: “We are grateful to work with industry professionals such as Evolution Beverages and GinBuilders, a new and important step in the development of the brand.”
