When winter settles in, it asks for drinks that linger, warmth that stays, and flavours that reveal themselves over time. As someone who loves a touch of the tropics, I find winter a challenge, yet there’s comfort in flavours that unfold slowly. Enter Sir Edmond Gin, infused with real Bourbon vanilla, the perfect companion for this season. While everyone else reaches for bright, citrusy cocktails, I invite you to explore something deeper and entirely warming.
Winter Neat: Vanilla's Quiet Strength
Some evenings call for simplicity. A neat pour of Sir Edmond Gin is pure, elegantly layered, and quietly complex. The Bourbon vanilla isn’t sweet — it’s warm, slightly spiced, and rich, like the season itself. Take a sip and notice how it lingers, slowly revealing hints of wood, cream, and subtle spice. It’s a spirit made for reflection, for quiet corners, and for moments that deserve to be savoured.
A Seasonal Twist on Comfort: Spiced Winter Gin Cocktail
When temperatures drop, the vanilla in Sir Edmond Gin truly comes alive. Especially when warmed and paired with flavours that echo winter’s depth. That’s why I created the Spiced Winter Gin Cocktail, a serve designed for hands wrapped around a glass, for evenings that ask you to slow down.
Ingredients
50 ml Sir Edmond Gin
20 ml cinnamon syrup (or honey with a pinch of cinnamon)
15 ml lemon juice
50 ml warm apple cider
Apple slice and cinnamon stick, for garnish
Method
Warm the apple cider, then add the gin, cinnamon syrup, and lemon juice.
Pour into a heatproof glass.
Garnish with an apple slice and a cinnamon stick.
Why it works
The warmth unlocks the vanilla, letting it bloom rather than sweeten. Apple adds body, spice adds structure and the gin remains unmistakably itself. Elegant, comforting, and perfect for long winter evenings where texture, depth, and lingering flavours are all that matter.
Winter isn’t about refreshment; it’s about the slow reveal, the quiet richness, and the gentle comfort found in every sip. With this serve, Sir Edmond Gin isn’t just a drink — it’s a warm companion, inviting you to linger a little longer and savour the season.
